This has been a crafty household. Remember all those scraps of material I received in the post? My mother started one of her miniature quilts using her share over the week-end. Usually they measure around 5" x 6", or even smaller... so you can imagine how tiny these squares really are:
If you want to see a finished one, my mother is selling a 'miniature grandmother's garden quilt' on Ebay now.
My 'Branching Out' is on its tenth repeat... as the yarn will run out on the 15th repeat or thereabouts, I am nearly done. I like lace, but tend to do a repeat and feel so satisfied I haven't messed up that I put it down and do something else. Like Shrinky Dink Pins! BellaDia had made some lovely ones, as had WeeWonderfuls.
I have been wanting to try these out for ages, so I bought some PolyShrink from Blade Rubber in Bloomsbury last week and was wondering how to go about it when WeeWonderfuls put up a tutorial yesterday! So here are my versions (some are more succesful than others).
The breakfast set:
The pussycat posse:
The PolyShrink I used is made by Lucky Squirel, and they have their own website. You have to use sandpaper to rough up one side, and it can be baked in the oven or heated with an embossing tool (which I did). Now I have to think up some suitable shrinky dink pin themes and brush up my drawing skills!

LOVE the breakfast set of pins, they are adorable, especially the honey pot.
And the tiny quilt too - once I tried one of those, and after being crosseyed for a few hours I decided to leave it to the experts :-)

That mini quilt is so great, Jess! I really like that idea. I know so little about quilting... but I know it is pretty! ;)
Great pins too!

Horray for shrinky dinks! Tiny things (quilts, pins, whatever) are always fun.
