Thought I'd share these vintage wool adverts with you. Whilst out visiting antique fairs, found some copies of a vintage woman's magazine called Home Notes over the week-end, full of wonderful vintage adverts (as well as some delightfully trashy romance, am now hooked on Monica Dickens' serialised novel Joy and Josephine... unfortunately missing the conclusion!).
This one is from September 1945, when all the adverts were praising peace at the end of the war:
And, 'ye olde wool shoppee', also from 1945:
Least we forget that wool comes from sheep:
And how about this fantastic sock knitter (though it seems they knit them differently in fairy-land):

I love "Miladi"!

Wonderful old adverts - a joy to see. Everyone should wear a hat while shopping for yarn.

Hope you don't mind...I'd like to swipe that first one for my Christmas cards this year. As for the fairyland sock knitter, I love that one, too.
Thank you for sharing.
