We had a lovely break in Spain, where all we did was sit by the pool and relax:
We also made a little furry friend, a beautiful grey (and partly) siamese cat:
In fact, she is the reason I haven't blogged about the holiday till now, because the Other Knitter in the House and I felt awfully upset leaving her behind (she was hungry and homeless, but so very affectionate). On the other hand, I am positive she would loath being in quarantine for 6 months because she didn't like indoor spaces. I hope the next people renting the house are as charmed by her as we were!
I am afraid the lack of blogging will continue for a while, as my sister gets married next week, and my house is about to be filled with parents and sibling! So, do return n September when I shall give you the lowdown of my sis's big day! Hope you are all having a lovely Summer.

Why does a cute homeless cat seem to come with every villa in Spain?
I know just how you felt - we were the same the last time we visited Spain and spent 2 weeks spoiling a beautiful stray kitten.
I think the fact that your cat was friendly shows she must be getting plenty of human contact, so I'm sure others will look after her too.

What a lovely trip. I can't imagine anyone not being charmed by that kitty.

I am so glad you checked in, despite the busy things going on in your life, Jess! Great to hear from you, and to see your new little kitty!

I thought you were going to say that you brought her home. I can understand why you couldn't. When we were on our honeymoon almost 20 years ago we spent a lot of time walking dogs at the nearby dog home!!!

Glad you had a good time on holiday, and awww, what a cute kitty. I'm always prone to picking up strays on holiday - the question of what to do when you leave is such a dilemma. I have never taken any of my adopted pets home with me either, because I always thought that they would probably not be happy with the changed and less free lifestyle, but family friends of ours brought home a big, wild tom cat years ago (I have quite vivid childhood memories of him). He never became completely tame and loved his freedom, but nevertheless seemed happy and chose to stay with them. He used to disappear for days at a time, only to then reappear with battle wounds all over. Quite a character, but he was happy in his ways and lived to a very old age.

Sounds like you had a lovely relaxing time. I expect the cat charms everyone who stays at that villa so you probably don't need to worry. How could anyone resist such feline charm? Hope the wedding goes well and look forward to catching up with all your news in September.

When we were in Spain the same thing happened. I think it's part of the culture - all the friendly stray kitties.
